Could be a DNS problem. If it happens again try pinging Google.
If this fails try pinging 173.194.34.82 which is the same destination avoiding DNS name resolution.

...or just put 173.194.34.82 in the address bar and enter. This will do the same as a ping and should open the Google start page.
