SR101 ADSL Details retreval and use

i would like to know how i can use my D-linkDSL2740R (useless no custom firmware) with sky's broardband i have tried and had little luck the adsl syncs and sometimes the internet light is lit but theirs no connection

i think its something to do with DNS server settings

hear is my SR101 config backup it confuses me on which password and username to use as there is two.

That method does not work. If you look through the thread to post #28 you will find a link to the proven method of obtaining the details you require.

The Dlink will not connect until you enter the correct username and password.

why do these posts keep disappearing its as if noone wants to know what a problem i have with this sr101 password retrieval

all i get is ".....h ...." from the option 61

i have tryed this many times followed static ip rebooted router with Ethernet cable capturing packets and still rarely i get a option 61 with no actual password in HEX text

Can you go to the Advanced tab in the router settings, click the WAN Setup link and check that the Router Mode is set to Auto or WANOE only? If it is set to Auto try changing it to WANOE only. Then attempt the password retrieval. Also be sure you are selecting the correct network card, you may have more than one showing in the Capture Interfaces. Remember you will have to change Mode back to Auto or DSL only, to make an ADSL connection.
