new sky n router brought from ebay help needed
Just brought a new sky n router from eBay coz my old one has started causing me problems.
Now the router was only £15. So not bad. But i have read that it could work straight out the box along has it has not been blocked or anything.
But lets just say it has been blocked. Am i able to take my old details from current sky router the grey one and input into the new one.
If so any help pls on doing this.
Thank you
Look forward to any replies.

Not with the Sky firmware installed. It will depend on the make and model of the router whether OEM firmware or open source firmware is available.

Re: new sky n router brought from ebay help needed
I do not have this router so cannot speak from experience however custom firmware is available for this router, check out Custom Sagemcom F@ST 2504N Firmware - pH-Mb. Hopefully someone who has used this will be able to advise you of their experience.

Re: new sky n router brought from ebay help needed
I am not sure if this firmware allows you to change the username and password. If it were you would be able to use the router with another ISP, which I don't think is possible. Maybe the creator will confirm if this is possible?
If the router does not connect, hold in the reset button for at least 10 seconds, wait for it to reboot, then give it some time to connect. It can sometimes tak a few minutes to make the connection.

Re: new sky n router brought from ebay help needed
As username is "mac_address@skydsl" and firmware prompts for MAC address this would be where you enter the MAC address of your original router. I believe that the password is a hash based on this value so as the password is not requested I can only assume that the required value is computed automatically. Hopefully MRMT32 is lurking and will post to confirm this otherwise you could always pose the question on the author's support forum at pH-Mb • Index page.
