7 Weeks speed variation?
Hi All,
I've recently moved and annoyingly 2 days after I moved, where I used to live fibre was switched on literary as I moved! FIbre has been available where I am now for a lot longer, however the cabinet has not been upgraded unfortunately.
Anyway, I noticed on my Sky account homepage that it said there may be fluctuations in speed for 7 weeks - Is this correct or just a generic message in case there are any problems? I've read that DLM usually takes around 10 days, I've been monitoring and after 3 days it's settled - Lower than the estimate Sky gave me, however I was expecting this as when I used other ISPs checkers, I was being quoted a lower speed, so wasn't expecting to get the Sky estimate for the line (Speed is currently 5Mbps, a lot slower than my previous address :P).
So is there anything in the 7 week quote?
Thanks!

Re: 7 Weeks speed variation?
I've not seen a '7 week fluctuation'. You could check the Sky service page to see if there are any issues with your exchange.
If your connection speed is lower than the range, you can always give them a call and see if they can tell you why.

Re: 7 Weeks speed variation?
With a bit of luck you should see 6-7Mb.
Any reason why you are using a different forum username? Don't you usually post under Robnobleuk?

Re: 7 Weeks speed variation?
If you want the extra speed, it might be worth plugging your router in to the test socket and see what you get.
