Re: Does the roundabout ever stop
hi, sorry to only just get back to this thread, been away for a week.
just got home and sky have dropped my line to 1meg or just under
just rang them, and they have adjusted my line setting, and I am now getting around 3.5, which is a slight increase as I normally get 2.5,
anyway......I would like to buy the VDSL plate/filter as in the link Installing the VDSL Faceplate : Installing an ADSL faceplate splitter
but I would also like to buy one of there good quality cables, but Im not sure what size plugs I need on the lead ends to go from the the VDSL pate to the sky router,
can anyone tell me or give me a link to the page of one of the leads I need on the above site please if possible, only need a short length.

Re: Does the roundabout ever stop
The connectors for the cable between the filtered faceplate and the router's ADSL Modem port are RJ11.
If you want to triple check, please do feel free to contact Dave from run-IT-direct.

Re: Does the roundabout ever stop
thanks scubbie.
when I spoke to sky this evening, they asked me to keep an eye on my line for the next 24 hours,
its just running with a the standard sky filter they sent me...even though I tried 3 of mine own first.
so if i keep an eye on my line for the 24 hours and alls fine, when I buy the VDSL plate, should I ring them again to see if they can re-alter my line in anyway, or just leave it as is, and just connect the VDSL plate ? even if I get an increase in speed with it.
EDIT..
this is my stats at the moment, Im sure the lady from sky said she would try and get the two upload and download the same on the noise margin ? could have that wrong though.
does this look ok at the moment ?

Re: Does the roundabout ever stop
See how things go for now.
When you fit the VDSL filtered faceplate compare the figures from before and after before contacting Sky. If you want a 2nd, 3rd, 4th... opinion, feel free to post them in this thread and we can see what is happening first.
As for the upload speed, actually I don't think that it will improve hugely. For the current download speed, that fits in with a 'normal' setting.
