slow connection

hi guys looking for some help

my connection has been playing up a lot lately. already phoned sky an had level 2 tech support say to me they can not see any issues an pretty much said nothing else they can do.

if im lucky i can download a game at 100kb. an speedtest gives me a result of 2mb, this is while it is plugged into the test socket with new filters.

Are you using wireless? About 9 out of10 complaints about throughput speed is down to poor wireless performance. If you are using wireless, plug in using ethernet and do a speedtest. Note the difference, if any.

If you are getting a low speed with ethernet, is this on one or more machines?

well it was the same on wireless an wired an has been for weeks, yet today it is back to normal. Pretty odd but glad it is working.

If your speed is intermittent using wireless, it is possible another network which is only switched on occasionally is interfering. If it reduces again, try a wired connection and see if there is any difference.
