When I connect to work I lose my connection - Any ideas please?
Hello,
I have complained to sky about my performance during peak times so they have put a test on the line until next Wednesday.
I sometimes work from home and have done so for nearly a year now.
As of yesterday when I switch on and connect my works laptop, I lose connection. I managed to actually get it to work last night so I could read my works e-mails for a bit but it was about 22:30hrs.
It happened with my Sky Sagemcom 2304 router and I have sinced through the help of this forum (very grateful) switched to my Belkin N1 Vision router which works better but still has the connection loss problem with my work's laptop.
Any one got any ideas please?

When you say "lose connection" does the internet LED on your router extinguish or is it just your browser stating, "unable to connect to server"?

the router changes to no internet - as I say never been a problem before.

Does the internet light go out or change colour? It looks like you may have a line fault.

Did you recently get moved over to their "New improved network" by any chance? Mine was switched over on 8th Feb and I now have a similar problem with my connection. The line light will go orange for a few seconds at random times, then reconnect itself. Sky are insisting there is no fault on my line and that it must be something on my side causing the issue. Nothing has changed hardware-wise in my house since long before the switch to this "improved" network, yet my connection was 100% stable for 12 months+ before this change at their end...
