Intermittent connection
I had a very solid download speed of 18mbit. Since yesterday, my speed dropped to 2mbit and has been fluctuating and disconnecting every few minutes. The speed has been slowly going up after every hour or so. 24 hours later and the speed is now at 14mbit but I am still getting disconnected every few minutes. I have even rebooted the router a few times and it didn't help.
Is this DLM or something else as I haven't had this many disconnects in the many years I've had Sky broadband. I've attached the router stats to the post.
Router:
Manufacturer Sagemcom
Model Number F@ST2504n
Firmware Version 6.14.2a4N_UNI
ADSL Firmware Version A2pD035g.d23j1
Thanks.

There are a few issues being reported in the south, Solent and Southdowns areas today. Do you live in this area?

Re: Intermittent connection
DLM doesn't make any profile changes in real time, it only does so in the early hours and only if it has kicked into profile optimisation (ie. if it's had time to react to the data collected showing your line as unstable).
In your case, the frequent loss of sync and corresponding speed changes are due to noise being induced from somewhere. You have any issues with your landline at the moment? Noise or the like?

Re: Intermittent connection
I did have some noise on my line yesterday but I've only heard it once, it's been fine since then.

Re: Intermittent connection
Presume you've tried connecting the router to the test socket with a different filter and only the short grey dsl cable that Sky provided? If not, try that including changing to another filter and see if the connection is back to normal. If you have another Sky router lying around, try that as well as another dsl cable.
If that's no different, then you want to ring Sky to see what action they want to take. Unfortunately, sometimes intermittent audible noise faults can be a nightmare. I couldn't advise what way I'd want to run the case without running tests that Sky have access to, in other words whether to treat the noise as a one off thing and treat as a broadband only fault. I'd definitely contact Sky if the above hasn't improved anything.

Re: Intermittent connection
Yeah, I've tried the test socket, different microfilter and the Sky DSL cable and another DSL cable. I have yet to try another router.
This is what happens in the router log when I lose my connection (this log is for 3 disconnections within 5 minutes):

Re: Intermittent connection
I have just tried another router and I'm getting the same problem so I guess there is something wrong with the line. Do I contact Sky or BT regarding line problems? I pay my line rental to Sky.

phone sky as they have the line rental
