New connection - router says 8mb, actual is 1.5
I have had a new line fitted today with sky, i could only get the sky connect service though from my exchange.
My router says it is connecting at 8128, however doing a file download test from thinkbroadband it is averaging around 120-150kbps.
Broadband Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 8128 kbps 448 kbps Line Attenuation 8.0 dB 4.0 dB Noise Margin 10.9 dB 28.28 dB
I understand that DLM will take place over the next few days, but should i be expecting such poor speeds initially?
Thank You.

your on max rating for connect package but will need 10 days for line to set best rate also for interleave or fast path witch will affect your ping and data rate

Also, with Sky connect, don't download too much in a single day.
Although things have improved, there is a monthly limit of 40GB. The On Demand service isn't counted as part of this, but everything else is.

Re: New connection - router says 8mb, actual is 1.5
At peak times you generally get very poor downloading as that's the nature of Connect unfortunately, although with so few connections in the exchange it might not be too bad.
As for DLM , well don't expect it to do very much for you as you're very close to the exchange & on the very best connection possible already.

Re: New connection - router says 8mb, actual is 1.5
You are at the maximum for Connect, on Sky LLU you would get very close to the maximum of 24Mbps.
With regards your throughput, can you go here and do a speed test - Sky User - Broadband Speed Tester You should get around 6800-7000kbps. If you don't can you go here Test Result click the ADSL/Fibre Diagnostics button (bottom left) this will give you the present speed and the Profile that has been set. Can you post your results?
