Re: Should I expect more speed?
I get negligible difference between the test socket and the extension socket. Ring wire in removed in the master so not sure if changing the router location will give any advantage?

Re: Should I expect more speed?
OK. I'll try that.
The manual reconfigure has resulted in:
The upstream stats have taken a hit, but hopefully this will sort itself out over the next few days.ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 14496 kbps 765 kbps Line Attenuation 26.5 dB 15.6 dB Noise Margin 7.1 dB 16.2 dB

Re: Should I expect more speed?
They do tend to forget about the upstream when manually configuring it. Happened to me a couple of times.
A polite reminder should be all that's necessary to get it back to a decent speed.

Re: Should I expect more speed?
Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure DLM is even running at the moment as there has been no change in the stats for 48hrs. Is it possible it takes 72 hours to kick in again?

Re: Should I expect more speed?
DLM may well be running, but not in its training mode. This means it will not kick in unless it finds a problem on the line. In theory it should also increase the speed if the line is capable, but this seldom, if ever, seems to happen. Give Sky a call and ask them to take the cap of your upload speed. It should go back to about 1.1Mb. If your line has stayed stable at 7+db, they may even be able to raise your download a bit more.

Re: Should I expect more speed?
Cheers. I'll give them a call. I'm still hoping to go over 16Mbps given the line attenuation.
BTW, tried the test socket as suggested above over a longer period. Attenuation only dropped by 0.5db. I imagine that this shows the internal wiring to be fine and I would gain little from using the master socket with/without a filtered faceplate?

Re: Should I expect more speed?
Sky have now increased the upload speed, but at a cost of the download. DLM now running, but with a noise margin of 7+db, I'm hoping the download speed with head upwards.

Re: Should I expect more speed?
If your router resyncs in the early hours of the morning, you will know DLM training is really running. I'm afraid you can't always believe what you are told by Sky agents, some of them will tell you anything to get rid of you and mark up another happy customer on their chart,

Re: Should I expect more speed?
I'll be looking for the re-sync each morning!
Would you believe, I phoned technical support at 7.30pm and got straight through!
