Second Life HTTP Problems
I am an avid users of Second Life. The new viewers will all use Http, this is causing me log outs constantly. It has been narrowed down to our router. Can anyone help?

Re: Second Life HTTP Problems
Umm, dunno how at mo, as I have forgotten password to router. Hubs knows but is out of country, will ask him later. I guess I find then there. By ping test, do you mean speed test? If so:
Speed test with USwitch
12.3Mb
Upload Speed
0.9Mb
Provider
Sky
Router is Sagem but cannot find identifier of version

Re: Second Life HTTP Problems
standard router login username admin password sky unless has been changed , ping results showing good results on ping test , better results for ping would be bring command prompt type ping bbc.co.uk run this test approx 10 times if all the same or close then ,something else causing issue
would try ping to game website or server after this

Re: Second Life HTTP Problems
Are you only suffering log outs whilst playing this game or in general?

Re: Second Life HTTP Problems
Yes, it is Second Life, new Firestorm viewer uses V3, so does Second Lif's own viewer. V3 causes drop out, and i am at a lose as to what to do about it.
Problem not encountered anywhere else.
Taken from Firestorm support:
This isnt your connection, as such. If its what I think it is (the DNS bug) its an incompatibility with certain connections/touter hardware and V3 based viewers.
It may also be an HTTP data issue. V3 based viewer can actually cause your internet connection to cut off under certain circumstances.
Okay, so lets try some other tests to try to narrow this.
LL have recently been working on the HTTP issues, including trying to fix the propblems V3 viewers cause for certain router/modem hardware.
