Re: Are sky throttling / traffic managing my connection?
Your problem is that if there are no LLU providers on your exchange, no matter who you go with it will be a BT re-badged product. You will have to do your homework to find the one with the best conditions.

Don't worry we are having a custom mod, coded especially for you.
When you click reply and enter your text then press submit, it will come up with a dialogue box saying, "are you sure that you have read the thread properly", with which you then have to press, "Yes I have", which will then bring up another dialogue box saying, "No, are you really sure that you have read the original post", which again, you will have to press, "Yes I am absolutely 100% positive that I have read the orginal post".
At this point, it will then bring up another dialogue box saying, "Sorry we don't believe that you have read the original post, please go and read it, then press reply, thank you!"
See how we think of you eh mate?~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Plusnet do have an Unlimited package which they don't advertise, used for customer retention I would imagine. It has different traffic shaping than the normal packages (i.e. stricter). They also have a Pro bolt-on which gives you a prioritised connection, i.e less contention and shaping. They're pretty good for the money, for a BT wholesale reseller, and they are at least completely up front about what traffic is managed, and when.
Sky are no longer metering Anytime+ usage in Connect usage allowance, so don't worry about that.

(Non Plusnet customers prior to 2002 / 2004 will not have a clue as to what I am on about)~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: Are sky throttling / traffic managing my connection?
I only moved over to Sky in Feb 2012 once they had unbundled, I would not touch anything else apart from full BT service untill then, op3 is unlimited however they do throttle all weekend P2p etc, apart from that any fully legitimate downloading service will be fine. And once Sky do unbundle your exchnage thinkbroadband :: Sky unbundles its 2000th exchange come back its better!
