No internet but connection shown as OK
I have an issue wher I can't get any internet access but the modem status lights are all showing OK, the router status also states that it is connected.
I have spoken to the tech help and they went through setting a manual IP address, checking the other parameters and still I have no access. We could ping the router but we couldnt ping to a website (we tried google).
Any ideas will be greatfully accepted.

This is usually a problem with the PC/Laptop. Have you tried connecting with more than one device? If you only have one PC connected and you are running Vista/Win7, right click the internet icon in the tray and click Troubleshoot problems. If it fails to connect, report what error is reported. In most cases it will be a DNS error.

Thanks for the reply, I have tried to get access on a laptop through wireless, a PC with a cable to the router and an Iphone and all are failing.

Can you try pinging 74.125.230.127 ?
Do you have another router you could try?

Thanks isitme, but this afternoon without me doing anything the internet seems to have started working again.
