Increase my Upload Speed?
Hi guys,
I am a Sky Broadband Unlimited customer and have just had the chat below with Sky. Based on this advice do you think it is worth me going ahead with the increase in upload speed? Many thanks!
Sky: I can see that you are receiving above 15 Mbps. This speed is correct. I would like to help but we will not be able to increase the speed the speed further.
You: can i not increase the upload speed? so that it is not capped at 0.6Mbps
Sky: I would have certainly done that for you but even if we try it may increase very little. Also we have to re-configure the line to do this which may influence stability and you may face intermittent connection. I advice you not to risk your connection for only a little increase in upload speed. Is there anything else I can help you with today?
You: ok thanks, how much do you think it would increase?
Sky: May be 0.5 Mbps.
You: i think that my be worth doing then. How long will it be an intermittent connection, surely not long?
Sky: Not sure, troubleshooting may be required.
You: ok i will give it some thought, thank you for your help

Re: Increase my Upload Speed?
These show that your internal wiring is interfering with the signal, both your up and down margins have reduced. I would say they will have difficulty manually configuring it much higher, unless you are lucky enough to get one of the few agents who are very good at their job.
I would advise you to fit and use a filtered faceplate which will isolate your internal wiring and give you the best speed and stability. If you do that and get DLM run again on your line you should see an improvement in both speeds.

Re: Increase my Upload Speed?
Thanks again for your help Isitme.
Is this the kind of thing I need?
ADSL Faceplate Filter for NTE5 Master Socket: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
Would you advise getting a filtered faceplate for all sockets or just the master socket?
Just to clarify my last set of stats were from my laptop (wireless) and the router was in its normal position (not in the master socket).
