Re: Increase my Upload Speed?
Hi guys,
On Friday I attached a VDSL Faceplate and connected my router directly to the master socket as advised. Here are my stats now,
System Up Time: 69:35:45
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
WAN PPPoA 2794961 3754975 0 1265 1596 69:34:50
LAN 100M/Full 131359 427806 0 253 412 69:35:40
WLAN 11M/54M 3737474 2535688 0 1753 1120 69:35:28
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 15355 kbps 797 kbps
Line Attenuation 28 db 12 db
Noise Margin 9 db 16 db
I have no idea if this has made any difference but things seem to be working better.

Re: Increase my Upload Speed?
Get Sky to run DLM again Pav, you've got lots of room for improvement there... Your attenuation is better than mine, you should end up with a much better upstream than me...
Tell them that you have improved your line and want it re-run in the nicest possible way.
I didn't get much joy over the phone but the live chat sorted it...

Re: Increase my Upload Speed?
They have ruined your upload speed,
Call them and ask them to raise it a bit, you should get at least 50% more.

Re: Increase my Upload Speed?
Hi!
It has been over 6 weeks now since making changes to my line and I seem to have problems with videos buffering when streaming them online (iplayer, youtube, etc). I am sure that it is worse now than it was before the configurations. Would anyone be kind enough to take a look at my stats and let me know if there are any issues.
These are the stats from my normal laptop position,
System Up Time: 336:48:08
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
WAN PPPoA 11083545 17730052 0 822 2508 262:02:26
LAN 100M/Full 8648319 4334776 0 2654 456 336:48:03
WLAN 11M/54M 17309076 13680060 0 841 646 336:47:51
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16156 kbps 1103 kbps
Line Attenuation 27 db 10 db
Noise Margin 7 db 7 db
Many thanks!

Re: Increase my Upload Speed?
Thanks richone54. Yes I am wireless, I'll give that a go when I get home later. I assume what they advise on the video below (try Channel: Auto, 01, 06 and 11) is best way to go about it.

Re: Increase my Upload Speed?
Not checked your link but sounds about right
there is some sort of programme you can download ( called ssid or something sim) that can check wireless signals and what channel they on, this there may be a link somewhere in the wireless forum .
