Disconnected then reconnected with 30% loss of speed
Hi,
Last week I was enjoying a nice multiplayer session online with some friends when my connection destabilised and I was disconnected from the internet. It took near 30mins to reconnect. When it did reconnect, it connected at 6.2Mbps when before the crash it was 10.1Mbps.
Since then I've rebooted the router once and now I'm up to 6.9Mbps.
I'm an Unlimited customer (Broadband) of just over a year and it was 10.1Mbps from day one and last week was the first time it's crashed out.
My router is a Sagem F@st 2304 and is always on & is connected to a UPS/Anti-surge device.
Is there anything I can do before I go rip Sky a new one?
Oh and I'm quite technically minded so I'm not afraid of the advanced stuff
And if this helps:

Re: Disconnected then reconnected with 30% loss of speed
It looks like your line has developed a fault or is suffering from interference. To rule out internal problems, plug into the Test socket, link below. using only the ADSL cable supplied by Sky.
Is your voice line clear of noise?

Re: Disconnected then reconnected with 30% loss of speed
Grasping at straws but in the unlikely chance that the UPS is misbehaving, could you disconnect it and plug the router straight into the power supply?
If this does not help, the only thing you can do is call Sky and ask them to check your connection. They may be able to reconfigure it to get your speed back up.
