Non existent download speed and regular dropping of IP address
Right, my Netgear DGND3700 seems to be playing up.
It keeps losing connection with the exchange and needs a reboot to re-pick up an IP address.
However, it's also downloading at rediculous speeds. Current speedtest is
Last Result:
Download Speed: 288 kbps (36 KB/sec ) Upload Speed: 712 kbps (89 KB/sec )
with a ping of 43ms.
My router stats are:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 11223 kbps 972 kbps
Line Attenuation 34.0 db 16.1 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db 8.2 db
How do I check to see what my CRC errors are etc with this router?
Cheers
Steve

Re: Non existent download speed and regular dropping of IP address
My first advice would be to connect your Sky Router and check your speeds. If they increase to about 9.5-10Mb then your router is faulty. If they don't, use another PC to connect. If the speed then increases, you need to clean your PC. If they don't, your router is faulty.
I think you will have to Telnet into the router to get the CRC errors, although Routerstats may give you them. You need the full program, not the Lite version.

Dont panic, I can no-longer receieve phone calls and whilst I have a dial tone I just get the engaged tone whoever I dial.
Oh well, wait for BTO now (even though Sky say there's no fault on the line).

I've sent you and email with the instructions for doing the telnet command for the router and a couple of links to download them.
