Sky Have Changed Me To PPPoA
For the last month or so my Sky Router has been connecting using PPPoA. It used to connect by MER. I'm on Sky unlimited.
Also the same thing has happened to a relative on the same (Scarborough - MYSCA) exchange. I'm just a bit worried that this could cause problems in the future if Sky stop allowing PPPoA connections.
Any idea why this would be happening?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Sky Have Changed Me To PPPoA
Would you know if your router has been updated recently?
Maybe they are changing the MER format?

Re: Sky Have Changed Me To PPPoA
I'm also currently quite happily connected using non-Sky router (Netgear DG834N) with a PPPoA connection, even though my (now broken) Sky router still connects using MER.
My exchange is LCEAR.

Re: Sky Have Changed Me To PPPoA
SKY have not returned to PPP 0A they are busy updating there network on more than 1 level. Sky took over several ISP's so they are in a transpision period , Busy transfering the network over to MER for normal ADSL. Personaly i feel they should be informing ppl as part of there T&C but hey how the don't bother! There are still parts of there network that use PPP0A but its a dying bread!
