Re: sky broadband checker
Who are you currently with? Do you have any alarm systems going through the phone line at present?

Re: sky broadband checker
everything ive got at the moment is with sky tv, broadband, sky talk and the line rental is with sky
as with the alarm then my answer is no
i can access the estimated speed with my address but not with my telephone number for some reason and we all know that the telephone number gives out a more accurate reading

Re: sky broadband checker
Your phone number may be between databases so to speak.

Re: sky broadband checker
The only other explanation in that case, is that you already have what Sky have to offer, therefore their route for you to choose is not possible, if that makes sense. ie the fact that you have Sky already cannot then allow you to migrate to Sky.
I cannot think of any other reasons then the 2 I have suggested.
I guess the sure way to find out is to try another provider's checker, and see if that would be possible?
It maybe just that Sky' systems exclude people already on their service.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: sky broadband checker
Most speed estimaters tend to fail when you are on an LLU line.
My Line rental is also with Sky and I can't get anything like that to work whether it is on Sky's checker or BT.
If it is really important to you, use the BT Infinity site to check what is possible on your line. Don't bother to put in your telephone number, use the Address & Postcode method.
BT Infinity – super fast broadband with a fibre optic internet connection
P.S. It estimates that my connection would be 17mb/s.
PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.

Re: sky broadband checker
well thats going to be a tough job to do because most of the checkers ive tried require a BT telephone number... so ive got no chance of checking that

Re: sky broadband checker
If you already have Sky talk and Broadband on your line it will always show this -
Your current phone line is not compatible with Sky Broadband and Talk. To take Sky Broadband and Talk, please use our address checker to see if you can also order a compatible Sky Talk phone line.
There is no data available for this number. This could be either because it is not a BT line or it is a new BT number that has just been provided. Most new numbers will appear on the checker 24 hours after BT has installed the line.
