Re: Newbie considering moving to Sky.
Woo hoo
Just made the call and thankfully got through to a nice lady who had access to the technical people.
Aapparently there were only a couple of minor errors on my connection so they've reset it.
I watched the router reset and now have:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 17211 kbps 1146 kbps Line Attenuation 24.5 dB 14.6 dB Noise Margin 7.3 dB 8.8 dB
Apparently they've started DLM again but have said there shouldn't be any problems.
Here's hoping!

Re: Newbie considering moving to Sky.
A good result. There is a good chance, if your line is good, that DLM will raise the speed a bit more.

Re: Newbie considering moving to Sky.
Keep an eye on things. DLM has been known to reduce a connection speed when it thinks that it is too high.

Re: Newbie considering moving to Sky.
Hi guys and gals.
Haven't posted recently because basically there's been nothing to report.
I suspected they'd stuck me on a fixed profile but my WAN reset at about 06:30 today.
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 17263 kbps 1150 kbps Line Attenuation 24.5 dB 14.9 dB Noise Margin 6.8 dB 8.8 dB
I have been monitoring things and all has remained solid apart from a drop in downstream noise margin at the usual busy evening periods.
The lowest I've seen this is 5.9dB but nothing ontoward that I can see as a bit of a novice, no collisions or errors.
Just checked MySky and there's still the previous notification on there that testing had finished, although I know from on here that it can be a few days late on updating.
Do I conclude from this that DLM is indeed running again?

Re: Newbie considering moving to Sky.
Fluctuations in the Noise Margins is normal and will vary typically according to the time of day or night since the sun will be a major item that affects it.
DLM would change your line speed. For reference though, DLM will always continue to monitor your line.
Based on those figures I would suggest that it is fine in your case.

Re: Newbie considering moving to Sky.
Thanks Scubbie, nice advice as usual
It was the WAN reset that raised interest. I've checked the exchange and no reported problems hence me asking if DLM had kicked in again.

Re: Newbie considering moving to Sky.
Just occasionally my connection resets with not speed change resulting.
Make a not of your speeds or refer back to your post above should it reset again.

Re: Newbie considering moving to Sky.
Just a small point, but have you checked if your firmware has been updated? That may have been the reason for the resync. I would think there will be an update sometime to correct the bugs in the old firmware, mainly the lack of a wireless N setting.

Re: Newbie considering moving to Sky.
Thanks Isitme.
This is what I have.
Model Number F@ST2504n Firmware Version 5.23.1a4N
I don't know if this is the latest firmware for my router to be honest.
