Very Slow Connection, Please Help !
I have been using the wireless router from 2008( i think ) for 3.5 years now and my connection was not the best but ok.
Since christmas my connection has been very bad. I have upgraded my router to the Sagecom F@ST2504n model. It says that my line can give me a connection up to 5MB but im no where close to that. I got this router 2 days ago and I know Sky starts my connection at low speeds but when I looked at others people speed at the beggining I just could not believe my connection would be started this low ! Since I got the new router my speed has gone up by 100kb/s. I do not know if Sky will boost my speed in a couple of days or if im doing something wrong. I can not even load Sky.com in under 20 seconds!
I would really appreciate it if you could help me.
Here are my routers statistics:

Re: Very Slow Connection, Please Help !
The Test Socket is located behind the faceplate of an NTE5 Socket. Take a look at the link below:
Sky User - How to test your Master Socket
I suspect that something has been plugged into a telephone socket without a microfilter. Take a look at all your telephone sockets and check that the first item plugged in is a microfilter. This specifically does include the telephone lead that goes to the back of a Sky STB.

Re: Very Slow Connection, Please Help !
I cannot find a socket that looks similar to the master socket or test socket .. Where would it be likely to be located ? Ground floor, 1st or 2nd ? I have plugged my router into every one but its always the same answer. Also what I find weird is that why is my Upstream higher than my downstream ? Isnt it supposed to be the other way around??

Re: Very Slow Connection, Please Help !
There should be a capacitor behind the faceplate for the master socket.
In some cases the capacitor is blue, but more often it is a yellow one, the size of a AAA battery.

Re: Very Slow Connection, Please Help !
Thanks I will try that tomorrow. Do you think this is the only problem or could there be others and also should I be getting better connection by looking at my statistics ??
