After 08:30 the download increases by a factor of 100, not %, 100 times faster.
I can live with it, but am yet to be convinced it isn't shaping. And if anybody wants statistics "I claim the Fifth Amendment".

That's what annoys me, when people claim their ISP they are with don't shape. I think all ISP's shape. So I expect ANY ISP I go with to shape. It's part of life. That's how I see it

As far as I am aware Sky don't intentionally shape any traffic.
However we must keep in mind that like all other ISPs there is a limit with regards to the actual network capacity at the exchange.
If the network is at full or near full capacity people will experience lag, slow browsing and slow download speeds.
This does not mean that the Sky is holding you back or giving priority to some other form of traffic.
If you start to notice a pattern then it is probably more of a behavioural one where people tend to use the internet more at one time and not at another.

If Sky shaped any of their LLU products, they would get into trouble with the ISA
No traffic management policy for Sky Broadband Unlimited or Everday Lite. External factors such as internet congestion can affect speed

Hey guys, OP here. To put this topic back on track a little bit, after being unable to call Sky the past few days, today the connection seems to have magically restored itself. If I had to guess, either Sky became aware of the problem and fixed it, or Stevogums on page 6 was correct and that severed connection has now been fixed. Regardless, thanks everyone for the help given. I hope this problem is permanently fixed now, we'll wait and see.

Play nicely guys. Not anyone particular person is being targetted by that, just a general observation.
