What the filtered faceplate does is isolate the broadband to the master socket meaning no other sockets need filters (which neatens things up)

Re: sky broadband speed
well i decided to ring sky up this afternoon to see if they could help me out and what a waste of time that was
when i got through to them a guy said himself that i should be getting a faster speed on my line and he was going to esculate this to another department
well after waiting nearly 25 mins on hold he came back on and he told me that they couldnt do anymore for me and that was it
in my mind now sky are going down rapidly in my ratings with them
a very very disappointed sky customer

Re: sky broadband speed
I am assuming that your line speed hasn't been improved?
Call again, it can be "fun" finding someone who understands what you are asking.
The suggestion that IWNTE has made is perhaps the best way to go. Ask if you can be placed on "G.DMT" which is also known as ADSL1.
I am a little concerned about the small change in your Line Attenuation. I would have thought that all being equal, that should not have changed. However your line is very long and tracing the source of the interference will be potentially very difficult.

Hi Scubbie
the way im feeling about sky broadband at the moment is that can shove it up there backside if you know what i mean
to quote what the guy said to me this afternoon... he said if he put me on a faster speed then it could possibly blow up my line
as far as im concerned now im moving to another provider as soon as fibre optic comes around here

Re: sky broadband speed
Sadly you are unlikely to get a much better connection from anyone else, other than Virgin Cable.
There is no date for Fibre in your exchange, so it is unlikely that any other provider will do a huge amount better than you currently have.

Re: sky broadband speed
hi guys
can someone tell me if this is possible
ive got a spare sky sagem router so i tried it out this morning and it says that my line is 67db
but my sky netgear router says 61db
which one should i believe

Re: sky broadband speed
You would not normally get that much difference with 2 different routers, it is possible the Netgear is under reporting. The Sagem on ADSL2+ will show the full attenuation, whereas others will show the maximum they can. This is usually 63-63.5 though, not 61.
