Line Rental Query
I'm umming and arring about getting Sky BB as I've got Sky TV and as much as I prefer o2 BB (as their upload is superior - I always get the 1.3Mbps) I can get more from Sky for less.
The main worry is the phone line. I know I have to take line rental with Sky but do you HAVE to go on the SVBN? If not, I'll move straight away
If I have to move then I'm staying put as I'll obviously have more options when it comes to moving on in future.
I'd ring Sales but I know full well I'd be told it's fine and then end up on the SVBN and I've not had a chance to contact my old work colleagues yet-------------------------------------------

Re: Line Rental Query
I think there was a post in the last week where a member had insisted not going on to SVBN and got away with it.
For no reason I can explain I'm sticking to BT for my line rental & calls.

Re: Line Rental Query
I'm gonna have to give the old office a buzz and ask. If I can stick with a BT line I think I might have to go with Sky

You have to take Sky line rental & calls to get Sky BB now but you might avoid the switch to SVBN,

Re: Line Rental Query
If we stay on BT line do we keep on the pppoa and not move to SVBN or MER?
His name was nut, Mr P Nut.

Re: Line Rental Query
A friend of mine switched to Sky but was still on a BT line & his Dlink router switched to MER so nothing is certain.

Re: Line Rental Query
Not fussed about MER, I only use BB in my lounge so WiFi distance isn't an issue so no need to use my own router, it's just the SVBN thing that bothers me. If I were to get Sky BB I'd get my line configured how I want it and that can only be done on a DSLAM not the ISAM due to the rubbishly narrow choice of line profiles
