Sorry to disagree, but in some cases the broadband does take 10 days or so to connect up.
I really don't have the technical information as to why one person will get a complete transfer with telephone & broadband in one go and someone else has to wait around 10 days.

Re: My stats?
While not disagreeing all evidence says that this does NOT apply to to the specific case of BT for lines that were originally from them! The other magic words seem to be "return to donor".
There is no real reason this cannot get scheculed for a date in about two weeks time - just like the move to Sky!

Re: My stats?
This I would definitely agree with, for transfers to/from all ISPs.
There should never be a reason why someone cannot have both the telephone line and broadband moved at the same time.
It would back logistical and financial sense for all involved. The BTO engineer would only need to make one visit to the connection point in the telephone exchange and the telephone line should always be made suitable for hosting an ADSL (or vDSL) connection, whether or not an order is made for it initially.
Sadly the truth is that often this doesn't happen.

Re: My stats?
TBH I doubt I will be moving away for a long time anyway.
I like the Sky HD TV and the anytime+ I have with it, the unlimited downloads (within reason) for the price I am paying. Until things change considerably I am happy as it is.
If another ISP comes along with a far superior BB service for £7.50pm then I may consider it for a few seconds, other than that I'm a happy sky customer.
Tweaking the broadband to have better pings and be more stable is all I'd like to do.

Re: My stats?
The main reason why people seem to be leaving Sky Broadband at present is to get BT Infinity. Of course it is debateable how many of these people actually NEED the extra speed!
I am now signed up for 12 months and would hope that Sky will have a fibre product on offer by then!

Re: My stats?
There are some who will have left due to connection issues or perhaps because they are in an area where Connect is the only option.
For those who are relatively close to their telephone exchange and have Sky's LLU equipment, the Unlimited package is definitely good value for money.
There will always be alternative offers though, otherwise we would just have the one supplier once more.

Re: My stats?
I can open my front door and see my exchange.

Its only about 3/4 mile away, downhill.
