It doesn't get any faster than what you've got.
You have to decide if you want the extra speed or Anytime+ . Simple as that really.
You shouldn't have expected any more than 20meg as that's the service that's offered by Sky.

Re: Get SKYBB Soon Advise Required.
Just been speaking with Sky today. Great news!
I'm on the svbn network. If they try and profile my line above 20000kbps the system will not allow them or if they try and turn off interleaving.
So they going to move my card over to non-svbn in the exchange, this enable them to give me fastpath and profile my downstream above 20000kbps.
My max my line stats it can handle is roughly 26/27000kbps. I've been advised once moved over to non-svbn at the exchange I will get a higher sync rate and better ping.
Off topic: Sky Anytime+ coming soon to all ISPs! Ask them, they just been running tests will 300 sky staff. 3 Sky members told me over phone today. They have internal notes about it.

Wow, wow, wow. Wait a second. Who told you this?
The chances of Sky migrating you over to a stinger are slim to none.
It's against procedure to put non-svbn customer's on fastpath, advisors doing so are risking their job.
And the max rates that will be manually applied on non-svbn is 20480/1312. No higher. DLM may profile you higher than this as there are a couple of profiles higher than the 20mbps one, but it's not guaranteed.Last edited by User05; 22-01-12 at 11:33 PM. Reason: Editing for clarification

Re: Get SKYBB Soon Advise Required.
Good news regarding your connection. There are a few members who have been able to get around 22mb for their download connection. This was gained through DLM too!
This was mentioned on the forum back in the beginning of December. We have no firm dates though.
Ultimately the Unlimited package costs much less than what you were paying previously. There is never any throttling during peak hours, something that most BT customers painfully endure just when they want to use the Internet.
Looking at you exchange and some of the exchanges near you, it is obvious that FTTC is slowly approaching where you live, but it is painfully obvious that it isn't coming soon. If this were the case, then you'd be in line to be able to get even better speeds.

Re: Get SKYBB Soon Advise Required.
I was advised this by member of staff in CST then spoke to cancellations who are moving me over to non-svbn.
Where did you hear your information from?

User05 works in Sky's CST
P.S. Sheringham is scheduled to get Fibre in June 2012 according to SamKnows.
SamKnows - Broadband Availability - Sheringham (EASHE) Exchange
I looked at Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft. Great Yarmouth has not date scheduled, whilst Lowestoft is also planned for June 2012.
Looking at the patterns in other areas, often a large exchange is targeted, and from there a chain is formed to others, including the smaller exchanges.

Since I wasn't party to your conversation, I can't comment on the detail.
It is likely that someone decided to get you moved across to help retain your custom.
The thing is, from observations, User05 does appear to know what he is talking about and does contribute towards the forum with some very valuable information in his own time.

Re: Get SKYBB Soon Advise Required.
Spoke again today.
Sky confined they will put me on a (true) fastpath connection when on non-svbn network.
When customer on svbn network they can only set the INP to 1.00 but when on non-svbn network the INP can be as low as 0.00 but is normally set to auto. Again INP has effect on your speed and latency. (lower = better).
Still even on non-svbn the target SNR will still be 7db but as using another router I can force this to be lower. I will aim between 0 and 3.
The process of moving me over to non-svbn network will take some time, following by time to settle my new connection afterwards.
I would then hopefully see speeds of which I had with BT. I would not have asked for sky to do all this but with my ping being 34ms and above even to BBC I really feel the difference and with a 5-6mbps sync rate difference downloading files, buffering video etc takes longer.
p.s. I must be worst customer they have ever dealt with
