Some websites not loading

Been with Sky for years without problems
Today, however, certain websites will just not load at all
eg I can browse the sky website fine but not their forums
Yahoo is fine but not the groups
Some facebook games/pages won't load but others are fine
Some sites (eg king.com) just don't load
Have tried different browsers & different computers - rebooted router
Cleared the caches

Any suggestions what else to try??

Just tried the sky test on the router and it comes up as:

same here - some sites won't load, other's do with no pattern - though can get onto some via a proxy server like hidemyass

Facebook - ok
Twitter - no go (though works via a proxy
Some forums - no go
This forum - ok
Gmail - ok
Dowload festival website - broken (though works via proxy)
Blogger sites - half loads the boarders but not the content
Wordpress - ok

Rebooted router & cleared things up. Tried a different machine upstairs - same results

Also been with Sky for years and its not loading various sites including:

twitter.com
librarything.com
and the sky help forums

It says 'sending request' on the browser but nothing happens. Have re-booted PC and modem but no change. Tried 3 different browsers.

It's a mystery.

Exactly the same problem here. I've tried every possible fix I can think of/find on various tech support websites to no avail. Sky tech support had no idea how to fix it and insisted there was nothing wrong at their end. However now that I've stumbled across this forum to find three other people having the same issue I feel it must be a problem on their end.

I made a thread earlier about the same issue but i dunno if it has published yet but i am having the same problem. I checked various devices & i know its not my end & sky support are useless as always

Hi. I am seeing similar problems today as well. I thought it was because I had just been switched to the full SKY network from an Easynet network, but maybe not.

Note My view is this is an internal routing problem with SKY, not an individual connection problem - reasons see below.

Symptons - cannot get through to web sites such as
sky.com, skyuser.co.uk, twitter.com many others

I can get through to
bbc.co.uk, google,gmail, many others.
Also I can reach the unreachable sites above by using a proxyserver - currently using freeproxyserver.net to make this post!

A lot of sites are slow, usually because they try to load ads or content from unreachable sites.

Spoken to man at SKY - no solution! Said try again tomorrow to see if switchover setlled down.

Tried using tracert to unreachable and reachable sites - interesting results - see below. Basically the request either work or eventually get lost - but they are getting lost outside sky\\\'s network. Anyone got any ideas?

I'm also from the north east, Sunderland here. Been on the phone to sky I have the same issues as all of you guys where a lot of sites are timing out. Sky basically said it is a problem at their end and are working on a fix, she also said that they didn't know what is causing it lol.

I decided to join the site as it was the only place I could find people with this similar issue, Hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Out of curiosity does anyone have issues with youtube playback atm when switching between video resolutions? mine is buggy as hell I was hoping it had something to do with this issue and is not my PC as I have just built this rig, appreciate any feed back on this thnx.
