Some websites not loading

Spoke to Sky and there is a server outage for 0191 numbers and they are working on it.

YES!!!! ^^^That's relief^^^ That it's not just my PC/router/me going mad. I did traceroutes and pings and even proxy traceroutes (that also showed problems), I changed my DNS (To Google's - that made it worse!) and flushed my DNS cache, and could access twitter via a proxy but not directly, and also a whole bunch of other sites were just timing out, mostly US-based it seems. I'm also in the NE of England. (So much for the internet routing around damage.) Thank you everyone for just confirming I'm not alone.

Yep, Im in Newcastle and have exactly the same issue. Many sites like Twitter simply not working, and those that are seem very slow. Glad to hear Sky have acknowledged it as a problem on their end. Couldn't gain access to my University website before so have been frantically trying to fix the issue, glad to hear its one of theirs...
