Internet drops when more then one device connected
Hey guys, I've been having problems with my sky broadband.
It seems to cut out quite a lot, I recently had a BT engineer come round and look at the line and found no problems.
It seems to me when I have more then one device connected then the Internet cuts out? Has anyone else ever had an issue with this?
Each device works fine on the Internet on its own, so there is no problem then, multiple devices is the problem laptop, iPad, iPhone!
Do you think the router is screwed or are there some settings that may be able to help.
Thanks guys

Re: Internet drops when more then one device connected
Your stats show your line is having problems as it is syncing very low and is on G.DMT(ADSL1) rather than ADSL2+ which it should be. Can you plug into your Test socket if you have one, using only the ADSL cable supplied by Sky.
How to test your ADSL in the Master Test Socket
If you don't have a Test socket, unplug everything you have plugged into the phone line, plug the router into the Master socket and post the stats from there.

This is the master socket, it has a fitted micro filter builtin. Everything else I have taken out..

Re: Internet drops when more then one device connected
Just in case there is a problem with the faceplate, unscrew it and plug in one of the filters you got from Sky. Take the stats and if there is not much difference in the noise margin, phone Sky and ask them to reconfigure your line.
If there is a jump in the noise margin you should replace the the faceplate with a new one, then call Sky to have the line reconfigured.

The faceplate is new as of Monday, the internet has cut out less since it was out in. Do you think I should still test it anyway?
Thanks for your help

I spoke to Sky who said there has never been a Dynamic Line Management test on my line, so now I have to wait 10 days *sigh*

Re: Internet drops when more then one device connected
Let DLM run its course. It can do 'magic' things with some lines, just make sure you have the router plugged in and powered up at all times.
Keep an eye on your stats, when the download changes to 4Mb or better that means that DLM has started.
