Does anyone know or is there a thread on how to get my nat type to open on my ps3? your help is gratefully received.

Port Forwarding Guides Listed by Manufacturer and Model - PortForward.com
Scroll down find your router, find PSN (Playstation Network) & the game you are also playing, follow the steps and should be sorted.

Thanks, for some reason my mw3 nat type is now moderate, when usually it is open. I cant understand why it has suddenly changed.

reboot the modem
sometimes upnpd crashes
run a network test on the ps3
should be good then

Hi boiler,
Just been through this myself, this worked for me with my D-Link router:
first set the PS3 on a static IP address using this video (scroll down for the PS3 version) "www.joinaclan.com/2011/11/cod-mw3-modern-warfare-3-how-to-open-your-nat/" and complete all the steps
Secondly log in to your router go to the 'Advanced' tab, then 'WAN SETUP' and turn on the Default DMZ Server using the static IP address you gave the PS3.
That's it, worked like a charm for me, went from Strict to Open straight away.
