Re: new sky bb set up
I think that confirms you are getting as much as your line will support at the moment.

yes, lets hope open reach find a problem that can be fixed, its nice to know im fully uncapped, and anything open reach can do (new line from pole etc) will alow my router to sync higher now im uncapped.

Different process from back in the day, IWNTE. There's a direct number to get through for repeat contacts.

Re: new sky bb set up
I stand corrected then. Big mistake if you ask me, though. One number gets out and all hell will break loose
Do Sky still draw a line on how much will be spent fixing an issue before it becomes uneconomical?-------------------------------------------

Re: new sky bb set up
lol, and no pms please asking for this number im keeping it private.
there is a noise margin fault on my line somewhere, even sky confirmed i should be getting much higher then 8mb.
the least they can try is a new cable from the pole to my house as well as what ever they do, ive just moved in and can see no sky routers in this street and dont no anyone yet, or id be cheeky and go knock on the door and ask if they minded if i inspected there "noise margin".
the other day it was going up to 10db, like i say im not settling on the current speed just yet until every possible avenue has been explored.

Re: new sky bb set up
just had £30 credit applied to my account for the phone troubles, and a full month line rental refund, they also just rang me back to confim bb open reach visit on thursday, cant fault sky at all.
also when i ring them on any of there numbers, i get a messgae saying as i have problems with services my phone call is been prioritised, and a advisor anserws within seconds (and a uk based advisor at that)

Re: new sky bb set up
Just cause the theory would suggest you should get more in some cases the line just can't do it. Perhaps it's part aluminium? Perhaps it's old underground cable? It can be very hard to pin point

Re: new sky bb set up
if a neighbour had sky bb we would soon find out, ie if there noise margin was roughy the same id accept the 8mb
as you can see from earlier posts the noise margin also hits 10db, i will only accept 8mb once open reach confirm there is no problems on my line or exchange, which his equipment should tell him.
a noise margin of 10 db to 5 db indicates line issues some where.
time will tell
