Some websites timing out
Hello,
Since late evening yesterday I've been experiencing the same issues that fellow Sky customers where experiencing in this thread.
Certain websites like this one, BBC and Google are working but others such as Sky, Bank of Scotland and Trip Advisor are timing out.
I've not seen any notifications that there are problems in my area - East Lothian, Scotland - so i was wondering if anyone else is affected in the surrounding area?

Re: Some websites timing out
Not having any issues here mate.
Have you tried rebooting the router just incase you have some stale sessions?~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Hey,
Yeah, I've tried rebooting and resetting the router but no luck. Other web enabled gadgets are having the same issue so i know it's not the laptop playing up.

If I see a certain person on MSN tomorrow I will give them a nudge to check for you.

Re: Some websites timing out
No worries.
TBH Scotland has always struggled for capacity etc - I know Sky ordered shed loads of capacity for the Connect users a few years ago.
It's you guys, you drink too much and use all our bandwidth, but one thing is for sure, you guys know how to party.
Hope it gets sorted soon, keep us informed.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: Some websites timing out
I'm in East Lothian and have this problem too. I was on the phone to Sky for two and a half hours tonight and once I got through to second level support (first level were a nightmare) they were very helpful, changing and testing every setting they could think of but to no avail. I'm gonna try a brand new Sky router tomorrow just to eliminate it, even though I know the fault it more widespread, then phone them back.
Try running the command prompt (run cmd.exe or start>programs>accessories) and type "tracert www.sky.com" without the quotes. The first jump will be your router then the second will be your exchange. After that it'll probably be an easynet.co.uk ip address and this is where mine times out.
If I ping the easynet.co.uk ip address directly I get total loss, no packets returned. If somebody could type "ping 84.38.37.38" without the quotes into the command prompt to see what they get and let me know it'd be much appreciated.
