Sky not supporting torrents?
I noticed today that a Twitter follower of mine sent Sky a message through their Support Twitter about using BitTorrent and their response was
https://twitter.com/#!/skyhd/status/134650770158125056
https://twitter.com/#!/skyhd/status/134652629472133120
Its made me quite concerned, I use a torrent website which is a private tracker to download some UK TV shows that I miss (they do not share any commercially released material) so I can watch them on my TV rather then using catch up services online.
If Sky do not support torrents then is there a chance they will throw off customers who use them?

Re: Sky not supporting torrents?
Looking at the second tweet they say that they don't support illegal content, which is fair enough:-
"as long as material downloaded isnt illegal or breaches copyright & weve not been told to block the site it should be OK. MM"
The bit about being told to block is more than likely in response to BT being order to block torrent sites. To be fair it's a fairly general response but i read it to say "download films bad, download legitimate stuff good."

Re: Sky not supporting torrents?
BSkyB, like any other large company, cannot be seen to support illegal activities.
If you download torrents, then you should be aware that someone may put in a request for your ISP to divulge who was using your IP Address at a given moment in time.
At the same time, if you are on the Sky BB Unlimited package, then Sky does not slow your connection down.
