Re: Some websites not loading or timing out
hey, i'm just a newbie & thought i'd try the link for a laugh! thing is though, i've been getting 'page cannot be displayed' with a ps3 specific error code all the time since migrating from connect to unlimited (svbn) 2 days ago. i really didn't intend to get into all that on here unless i had to, or until i'd done some ps3 troubleshooting elsewhere. i'm afraid i've been leaning on this forum for support a lot lately & wanted to give a little help back. may have opened a can of worms there. oops.

Re: Some websites not loading or timing out
OK - I have changed the DNS settings on a computer I have admin rights to so that it uses a Public DNS service and that has cleared this problem and I can now access the site that I was failing to access. However I have another computer that I do not have admin rights to (it's my work laptop) and I therefore can't change the connection specific DNS settings on that computer. What I'd therefore like to do is to change the DNS settings on the router but my understanding is that users can't change the DNS settings on Sky routers.
Is this right? Is there any way around this? Is there any way to change the DNS settings on a Sky router as I've been told by the (very helpful) customer support guy I spoke to that this isn't possible?
Or do I need to buy myself a new router? I've also been told that part of the terms and conditions with Sky is that we have to use a Sky router so this doesn't seem like a solution either.

Re: Some websites not loading or timing out
That confirms that the Sky DNS settings are causing the problem. The DNS settings can be changed on the Sagem 2504 by applying Mrmt's firmware, you can find out about it here-
http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/techn...04-router.html
The warnings are standard on any firmware update, I don't think any failures have been reported.
Although the T & Cs say you must use a Sky router, many people use their own with no problem.

Re: Some websites not loading or timing out
Try emptying your Internet caches and any other Temporary files you have floating around and see if that helps.
