Any idea when we can expect to be able to use Media fire ?
This is getting beyond a joke , Since Friday , I have not been able to access my files stored on Media fire nor can I upload any files to my Media fire account .
I use it for legitimate purposes , I can access files that are sent to me by using a proxy site ,The files are radio shows from other presenters which i need to download so as long as I use a proxy site , I can download those files , the Proxy sites however won't load up my files storage on there so it means I cannot upload or access any of my files .
I've read elsewhere it's to do with the IWF etc , but surely in this high technology age ,there must be a way they can filter the dodgy stuff without making us legitimate users suffer .
the thing is until they sort this , I have lost about 30gb of radio show back up files .

Re: Any idea when we can expect to be able to use Media fire ?
this aint the first time this has happened, it has happened not so long ago, you are right it is to do with the IWF, it basically means that they found something which should not ever be found anywhere (child _ _ _ _), the website wont be back until it is confirmed to be removed, last time it was not only media fire but other file share sites too, id recommend using more than one site for backups, especially if you need them.
so basically no one can guess when media fire will be back online, it just a waiting game untill media fire remove the content that violates this.

Call Sky & complain.
Call & email the IWF & complain.
Also notify them that you are a legitimate subscriber and that you may speak with a solicitor over this action which they have imposed over your legal use of the Internet.
For the record, I can't take the action I would like to against those who like child porn as I suspect it is banned in over 99% of the world.

Re: Any idea when we can expect to be able to use Media fire ?
Just sent them an e-mail , I'd like to do the same to those that seem to delight in such activities , I'd also make them eat their computers/laptops and whatever else they use in their seedy goings on

Re: Any idea when we can expect to be able to use Media fire ?
The problem is that blocking like this does not effect those who are using such filth and the IWF should know that by now. Apart from infuriating legal users all it does is stop anyone stumbling across the filth accidentally. They should be able to block the specific URLs containing the porn, instead of blocking the whole server. There was a case a few months back when they managed to block the servers containing world known bloggs and newspaper sites. That was repaired very quickly.

It's back on now , It always seems to get blocked at weekends so I'm guessing that's the busy time for the porn pushers .
each account on media fire has it's own URL so they ought to be to just block the URL's to the offending accounts but i expect that would use more resources and cost more
