problem with port forwarding.
hi,
I have been trying to sort out my friends xbox ports because he has moderate NAT type on xbox live. I have forwarded the ports and assigned them to his xboxs IP address, the problem is that when the xbox gets turned off the moderate NAT type come back. The really strange thing is that my xbox always has open NAT type when connected to his router.
I use wired and he uses either wired or wireless which makes no difference. His IP address always stays the same and I have tried multiple times. Could it be because his router resets randomly?

Re: problem with port forwarding.
Try reserving the address of the Xbox in the routers settings. Where this is found depends on the router.
If the router is resetting randomly, it has a fault and should be replaced. Resetting the router removes all settings so anything set up in it will be cleared.
Advice on setting up the Xbox can be found here-
