Moving from o2 to Sky
Hi just after a little help to make sure things are going as they should
Last week we ordered TV, Line Rental and Broadband Unlimited from Sky
We are currently with o2 for both line rental and broadband.
After some system problem,s o2 came up with a mac code, however when trying to put this in the order tracking page on sky it says 'Sorry, our service cannot process your MAC request'
We have rung Sky to give them the code, and they say that the website will not accept the mac code as the change from o2 line rental to sky line rental is in progress, and the phone is due to transfer on 20/10, a day or 2 after this they said the website should then accept the mac code and the broadband order will then progress.
I just wondered if anyone else had gone from o2 to sky, with both the line rental and broadband and had a similar experience or should they be transferring both at the same time?
Thanks

Re: Moving from o2 to Sky
When you are moving to or from an LLU based product a MAC code is note always required.
Sky BB Unlimited is an LLU based product.
MAC Codes are used normally when transferring from one BT Wholesale product to another (i.e. between Post Office, PlusNet, Orange or Eclipse).

Re: Moving from o2 to Sky
Thanks for the reply, we are moving from o2 LLU to sky LLU so it makes sense that a mac code may not be needed (even though the sky website asks for one, and we got a text from sky yesterday saying they needed one to progress the order! - they havent sent any router or anything yet)
I think we will just have to see what happens on the 20th, I am guessing we are going to be without broadband for a few days as wont the o2 broadband stop when sky take over the line rental from o2?

Re: Moving from o2 to Sky
When your line is move to Sky's LLU equipment, any previous BB connection is disconnected as you will be going through a different physical connection in the telephone exchange.

Re: Moving from o2 to Sky
I moved over from o2 to sky about 6 months ago, from what i can remember, i had to wait until phone line went over to sky, then about 10 days later my bband went over, after giving my MAC code when i originally placed my order with sky, i only had about 30 mins downtime on my bband also.
