Sky DNS problems - Websites randomly give up loading?
Thought I would throw this out as having some (what appear to be) random problems. Have read similar threads but they're not quite the same as what I'm facing...
I have EasyNet set as my Primary DNS and one of Sky's servers set as my secondary.
This has been working fine for me, probably for a couple of years, but very recently I am having major DNS issues.
Completely randomly, for what seems like no good reason, all of a sudden I will get problems where I appear to have lost my connection.
On checking though I haven't, as the router is still logged in and I'm still connected. But I can't access webpage or can't get an internet connection. If I reboot the router, I can access the router - but may not be able to get a connection out to the internet or the DNS (on the router status page) will not update for quite some time (if even at all).
(When trying to browse at this point/trying to refresh a page, I will get "Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): Unable to resolve the server's DNS address").
I have only just got webpage access back right now after 3-4 hours of messing around and trying to get webpages to display again and my DNS settings are as they were before the problems began.
Has anyone encountered any similar problems?
This issue has only started for me within the last 2-3 weeks and I hadn't changed anything, settings as they were for ages and worked perfectly.

Re: Sky DNS problems - Websites randomly give up loading?
I'm getting some sites not loading, regardless of using Sky DNS, openDNS etc...
Seems to only be effecting particular sites, so presumably it is some network/routing problem with Sky preventing access?
Supporting evidence for that is by using a proxy, and therefore bypassing my normal network route, effected sites will load just fine.

Re: Sky DNS problems - Websites randomly give up loading?
I thought it was just me. My connection doesnt seem to have gone down by some sites keep timing out such as Facebook, Digital Spy and even Twitter. If I'm lucky and I refresh a few times they'll load but if I try and click on a link from the page itself it will give up loading and time out. I cant sign into MSN either.

Re: Sky DNS problems - Websites randomly give up loading?
Yes - facebook intermitantly, expressandstar.com , and a few US ones as well. I'm on Sky DNS.
Only info I can find that might mean something is regarding an outage at the LINX internet connectivity centre; this was only reported by Multiplay (who supply the Minecraft server I run) and I assumed it just affected *their* services, but last time there was a LINX issue half the sites I use were away for a day or so.
