Connection Problem and Slow Speeds
Hi there, I have just moved into a new house and Sky Broadband was set up by an engineer. However recently the internet connection keeps cutting out. This is the process of what happens,
1) The internet will cut out and the page will fail to load, instead it is replaced by http://www.acme.com/software/micro_httpd/
2) Then after about 2 minutes of no luck, Sky Broadband page pops up saying that there is no internet connection.
3) After about 5 minutes the internet connection is resolved.
However this problem seems to be getting worse. From about 8AM-10AM this morning this problem has happened 3 times, which is frustrating. When this happens the lights on the router change, and the internet light goes off, then turns a flashing amber, and then green.
I have done a speed test on Wifi,
And on Ethernet cable
Any help would be much appreciated. I have contacted Sky but I am awaiting their response!

Re: Connection Problem and Slow Speeds
I think a virus & malware scan would be advisable. MalwareBytes is a free malware scanner.
I had something on one of my computers that managed to affect the router which I initially took as a faulty router but it happened again with the replacement. Only solution I had was a full rebuild unfortunately.

Re: Connection Problem and Slow Speeds
Can you check your set up please. Ideally the router should be plugged into the master socket with the filter plugged in first and any extensions, phones or Sky boxes plugged into that. All other sockets in use must have a filter plugged into the socket first.
Please post your stats from the Test socket if you have one. If you don't, unplug everything you have plugged into the phone circuit, plug a filter and the router into the master socket and post your stats from there.
