My connection keeps fluctuating
So basically what happens is I'm browsing youtube or playing on the xbox, and all of a sudden my connection will start to act terrible! Youtube videos keep buffering or I get kicked off xbox live.
On speed test the connection which is usually around 2Mbps goes all the way to 0.3 Mbps and as you can imagine this is unbelievably frustrating. I took a screen shot of my router statistics, here they are,

Re: My connection keeps fluctuating
Your router stats indicate that your router has not lost it's Internet connection for the last 249 hours.
From reading your other post, it appears that you are connecting via WiFi.
Based on the number of people who have problems with WiFi and the Xbox, I would strongly recommend that you use a wired connection.
There are various options available to choose from. They range from a suitable length of Ethernet cable, to HomePlugs and old routers. The solution which will best suit you may be different to someone else.
Can I suggest that you read this thread: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/askin...e-network.html

Re: My connection keeps fluctuating
I am connecting via wifi. The internet doesn't totally disconnect but the speed goes right down. And the problem also affects my laptop not just my xbox.

Re: My connection keeps fluctuating
A couple of things to look at then, so we can see any patterns...
Could you download and install inSSIDer please?
If you can run inSSIDer and see if your router is using the clearest WiFi channel. If it is using a busy channel, then please feel free to log into the router and change the channel to either of these and see which performs the best: 1, 6, 11, 13.
Next can you obtain the router stats when your connection drops. As previously mentioned, your connection has stayed on-line. The normal pattern would be that it drops and stays low or that it disconnects.
One issue that can ruled out is issues with the Sky Broadband Connect package. Some people think that they are on the Unlimited package, but for various reasons they end up on connect.
Your connection is correctly configured to ADSL2+. Once the cause has been identified, it might be worth you getting your line changed over to ADSL as this could provide you with more speed. You will need to be careful though as I assume that being an Xbox owner, you will also want a good ping value.
You would need to find someone who does know what they are doing with manual line configurations.

Re: My connection keeps fluctuating
Ok, I'll do that soon. What might be worth mentioning is that recently my ping has been much better than usual, and as far as I know nobody in the house has contacted Sky.

Re: My connection keeps fluctuating
Cool it is always good having low ping times on Xbox Live.
What are your ping times?
Can you post them on here?
When there is multiple devices online the speed will drop slightly.
With a 2000k sync, that will give a throughput speed of around 1600kbps, so gaming online and using a laptop will make the speed go right down. Xbox live depending on the game can use quite a lot of that speed.

Okay, I took a screenshot of what the stats are when the internet is slow.

Re: My connection keeps fluctuating
Can you re-take the stats from the test socket (assuming you have one) with just a filter and the short grey dsl cable to the router? Any noise or issues whatsoever on the landline?

Re: My connection keeps fluctuating
You are on ADSL2+, you might want to ask Sky to move your connection to G.DMT(ADSL), this is often better on long lines such as yours. It may not give a lot more speed, but it will possibly be more stable.
Your Test socket stats may tell a different story.
