Sky Broadband Activated Before Activation date
Hey there
I plugged In my Sky Wireless Router today Just to See if it Would connect to the internet (My Activation Date is on 23rd Of September Next friday) And it did But It was Capped at 386 kbits Download and 486kbits Upload Will this be my speed when the line is Properly Live or Is this Just a Test Speed Or something

It will increase when your line is activated if your line is capable of more. Post the full stats from the router.

Sorry I have now Put the Router Away as i was Just Testing It to See if it Was Able to get online as I have 3 Mobile Broadband At the moment And on skys Letter and On the website it said I should get between 2.5mb/s-12.2mb/s So should i get Around 6mb/s or something like that?

That is a very widely spaced estimate, there is a vast difference between 2.5 and 12.2 Mb, In fact as an estimate it is useless. I don't know how Sky can get away with that, they would be as well saying you will get between 512kb and 20 Mb.
Until we see the stats we cannot even give a guesstimate.

Also Im on 2.2km away from my exchange so hows the db like that thats 1.4miles so

But Im still over a week away from Activation and ive heard these figures can change Alot Just Before Activation and a week or 2 after so we shall

You have quite a long line so will not get a great speed. I would estimate somewhere between 2 and 3 Mb. You should be plugged into your master socket using only the ADSL cable supplied by Sky, no telephone extensions. Any other extensions which are used must have a filter plugged first into the socket.

All i had plugged into the socket Was the MicroFilter and The Adsl Cable that sky gave me and The telephone cable for our home phone and Do you think it will change after the line goes live and also how do i know which is my master phone socket
