looking back through this thread, Tom mentioned that you should expect between 2 & 3Mb. At the moment it appears that he was spot on.
Did you manage to identify the Master Socket and are you using this one?

Re: Sky Broadband Activated Before Activation date
The fact that your line has changed to ADSL2+ probably means that DLM training has started. It will not increase your speed unless your line supports it and as your noise margin is already below the default, you are not going to get any more. Call Sky and ask them to change your mode back to G.DMT(ADSL1), that may give you slightly more than you have. They will probably tell you that you have to wait until DMT training is finished, if they do, ask to be passed to the CST(higher tech section) as you know that DLM is not going to increase your speed.

Re: Sky Broadband Activated Before Activation date
You speed is fluctuating wildly because you have a very long telephone line.
The noise margins are changing with the interference that the line is picking up. This is normal, but becomes worse the longer the line.
My own does vary a little, but not as much.

Re: Sky Broadband Activated Before Activation date
It is important to remember that your actual throughput will be 10-15% below your sync speed. This means your download speed, with your present 2Mb sync, will be about 200-220KB/s.
