my line was 14 db at adsl 1 and its capable of 22.7mbit at sky's 7db margin
so you should make 20mbit with ease

Re: moving to sky llu
That looks like a huge improvement.
As Shonk has mentioned, you should be in line for close to Sky's full 20Mb connection speed by using that socket.
As previously mentioned, if you were to fit a filtered faceplate, then this would isolate your internal wiring and you should expect a connection speed like this.

Re: moving to sky llu
OK sky not off to a good start.Just checked my sky, to see how the order was progressing after putting in my MAC code yesterday and its telling me I have cancelled my broadband order!
Phoned sky, to be told 'for some reason the BB order was put in before the phone, and they obviously can't start the BB order until the phone line is done!'
Funny that it was showing a completion date for the phone line, but the BB order was progressing!
So, I have just been told to wait until the phone line goes active on the 26th of this month, and THEN order BB, which will THEN take at least 7 days to sort out.
So that means at least a week with no internet.
Not impressed.

Re: moving to sky llu
Sadly it is quite common for Sky to insist that you order the telephone & broadband separately.
Without knowing their systems, I can't say why this is the case on some occasions and not others

OK just phoned up again, to be told pretty much the same thing again (funny they let you order it together...) but this time I was told I would be without BB for 2 weeks plus
Unfortunately thats not acceptable to me just now so I have cancelled.

Re: moving to sky llu
I don't blame you. If Sky are going to force you to take their line rental before you can get their broadband, they should be doing something to ensure they come on line together. TalkTalk can do this, so why not Sky?

Agree completely. As they now force you to take sky line rental, they are shooting themselves in the foot with the poor BB activation times.
I doubt many people see a 2 week loss of broadband as acceptable these days.

Re: moving to sky llu
You are correct in stating that it isn't an acceptable solution. Sadly it appears to be all too common though.
Normally I suggest that it is a good opportunity to purchase a 3G dongle, particularly if you have a Laptop.

Re: moving to sky llu
We have a dongle, but unfortunately spending 2 weeks plus at dial up speeds is not an option us.
If and when sky get their act together on this I may reconsider, if I have not signed up with someone else in the meantime.
The official sky forum is full of complaints about this issue, so hopefully they will wake up.
