Re: activation update --
I'm syncing at a similar speed to you & speedtest.net always gives me 14+Mb/s regardless. Even tried Sittingbourne and still got that.
Not sure what that indicates , just thought I'd mention it.

Re: activation update --
Just a quick note about the speed test sites.
They all suffer from being used and subsequently results will vary with just how much they are being used. Personally speaking mine shows one set of peak stats, some things I got a little higher at different times, whilst others dropped.
The different locations can occasionally produce a better result, but not often.
I have found that a 2nd or 3rd test can improve things, but again this isn't guaranteed.
Essentially you should view them as a guide not as gospel.
Other import things to consider are to ensure that no other activity is happening on your connection; use a wired connection, not WiFi; different times of the day or the day of the week can also affect your results.
However it is also important to consider that it does reflect the following in your connection:
- your connection speed, less overheads
- hidden errors on your connection will reduce the result
- the speed of your computer
- a PC with lots of background tasks is going to appear slower
- the recommended site reflects the point at which your ISP's servers connect to you to the Internet, not your home location

Re: activation update --
You've got a good result there.
Nice to know that I'm not the only one who can find friendly staff when you call sky too.
lol - I don't show them for competitionThere are some members that have better connection speeds than I, but mine are there to demonstrate specifics with a particular Line Attenuation.
Still, you'll find that if you were to reset your connection at say 1am, then you might get a slightly better upstream connection.
