moving home questions again
hi guys..moved house last wk.....BT cant get my line up and going until 22nd aug :-(
Woman @ sky said phone them when line up and running, and they will get my broadband up and going within 3days - cause i was/am already a b/b/ customer with them.....is this true ?....or is it gonna be the 10 days thing again ?
another query ?
i have my old (3mths old) sky router from last house.....can i just connect that back up with same user/pass that came with it ?
or
will sky send out a brand new router / contract for new house ?
using wireless dongle to send this,,,man it sucks, really, really slow
cheers again...

Re: moving home questions again
Booking an appointment for a BT Openreach Engineer is something that Sky does every day for different customers. If she's said to call, then call when you have a telephone line.
As for the router, she advised you that you are already a Sky BB customer. This tells me that they know you already have a router. You will not be sent a new router for your new home.

Re: moving home questions again
No problem. I appreciate that you would love everything to be connected promptly. Unfortunately all the line providers & ISPs have to book appointments with BT Openreach.
The only exceptions are the cable companies (i.e. Virgin) and Kingston Communications (Hull area) and a few small companies dotted around the country in mostly rural areas.

Re: moving home questions again
There is the Bank Holiday Weekend ahead, but I would strongly recommend that you connect you router sooner.
Sometimes the BTO Engineer will connect you early, but the connection might be intermittent before the official 'live' date.

Re: moving home questions again
might fire it up tomorrrow and leave it on......
by the way....i only moved 200yards from my old house......distance now from my exchange - 258mts....and its not going through flats, like my old home ( 6 in block ).
This flat is single and has its own seperate line coming in, so hoping i will get same or better connection speed than last home
bank holidays...arghhhhh.......dont say that....it might delay the activation or....it might get it up and going sooner
