my download speed ?
hello i have used the speed test from this site and it said Download 288Kbps
what is this in mb please ?
i was told i should get 10 mb on broadband unlimited as i was not far from the exchange when i got broadband and telephone last week,i phoned today and was told my speed is 3.5 she then put me onto tech support who said i was getting just over 6mb and when i said i was told i would get 10mb she said that was just an estimate,i have just emailed Sky to complain and ask if it was too late to stop Sky and go back to Virgin in the hope they can increase my speed.
thank you.

Re: my download speed ?
You need to post your router stats with the router plugged directly into the test socket of your master socket.
Look here

Re: my download speed ?
Now can you post the stats from your Test socket, using only the cable supplied by Sky?
How to test your ADSL in the Master Test Socket
Please check when the faceplate is removed all other phone sockets you have are dead.

Re: my download speed ?
If that is the result from the Test socket and none of you other phone sockets have dial tone, you either have a very poor line or it has a fault. Is your voice line clear or do you hear noise on it? Using a corded phone, dial 1 digit and listen. You should hear nothing except a very quiet hiss at most.
You got the grey cable you are using from Sky didn't you, so that should answer your question.

Re: my download speed ?
You have not said whether you checked for dial tone on your other phone sockets when the faceplate was removed.

Re: my download speed ?
I am not quite with you there, is it connecting through the power circuit like this -
[ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/One-All-SV1550-Wireless-Extender/dp/B000MRZM4U]One For All SV1550 Wireless Phone Line Extender: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics[/ame]
Is it unplugged when the faceplate is off, ie plugged into a splitter on the faceplate? Make sure your filter is plugged in first, then any splitters.
