Re: New activation: initial stats and tweaking
I'm now just plugged in to the Master Socket (needed to use phones elsewhere), but can switch it over to the test socket if this is unlikely to interrupt DLM?

Re: New activation: initial stats and tweaking
You would be better switching it now, the way things are looking DLM is going to reduce your speed rather than increase it. You should buy, fit and use a filtered faceplate.
As a temporary measure it is sometimes possible to plug the faceplate which holds your extensions into the micro filter when it is plugged into the Test socket. Plugging the faceplate into a trailing extension plugged into the filter would definitely work. If you can manage it this will give you almost the same result as a filtered faceplate. The only difference being the filtered faceplate will have a better quality filter.

Re: New activation: initial stats and tweaking
OK thanks, I'll switch to the test socket this evening and see what the DLM gets the line up to but plan to install a filtered faceplate.
Just so I know, what specifically from my stats makes you say it's not looking good...just the speed I've been moved up to after 3-4 days?

Re: New activation: initial stats and tweaking
The speed you have at present and the noise margin you have in hand. The default is 7db and you are below that, meaning there is no more speed available and as you are below the default your speed may be reduced..

Re: New activation: initial stats and tweaking
As a quick update, I've just checked my stats (remotely, haven't been able to switch sockets yet) and I'm up to:
12287 / 764
34.0 / 19.1
9.1 / 8.5
There seems to be a speed improvement!

Re: New activation: initial stats and tweaking
Attenuation was 28.5db when you plugged into the test socket on G.DMT on the first day. It went up to 30db while still on G.DMT according to the stats you posted in post number 9.
One of the things that could lead to this variance is an internal wiring issue. You need to get that filtered faceplate on asap.

Re: New activation: initial stats and tweaking
I've attached a screenshot of the stats from 15/08 (apologies, I don't have one from today as can't do it remotely).
I had an internal wiring issue (phone circuit not working) and an engineer fixed this last weekend by rewiring the master socket as they wires had not been pushed down properly.
I will plug into the test socket this evening and will gather a couple of days worth of stats from that which may give some clarity!

Re: New activation: initial stats and tweaking
These are more in line with what you posted today, probably get another couple of Mb where you are, but get it back in the Test socket as soon as you can. Interference on internal wiring varies from one moment to the next, so it is better to take it out of the equation.

Re: New activation: initial stats and tweaking
OK, now into the test socket and it has re-synced, these are the current stats:
Speed: 12287 / 916
Attenuation: 32.5 / 18.8
Noise Margin: 11.3 / 8.0
