Faulty faceplate
I currently have sky broadband unlimited and am promised up to 20Mb. With this I got about 14Mb on my speedtest.net results which I was happy with. A while ago this suddenly dropped to around 3Mb and the cause was found to be the faceplate. Replacing this restored the internet once more.
More recently my internet slowed again (my ping has been relatively unaffected) which I once again believe to be the faceplate as bypassing it gives me my old levels of internet. When phoning sky support I was informed that my house was limited to 3Mb. I'm not entirely sure what that meant (or even if I remember the number correctly) but I think it might be the cause of the damaged faceplates. I think I might be running too much data through them and they can't cope.
Am I right in this assumption and if so, what can I do to rectify this? Will I have to replace the whole box on the wall bringing broadband into my home? Or is it just coincidence that my faceplate has broken twice?

Re: Faulty faceplate
Faulty faceplates are very unusual, it is more likely to be something else. Plug into your Test socket and post your stats.
