New user/customer saying hi and logging BB speed over the next few days

Hey guys, just joined this forum. Had my BB activated yesterday. Speed as of today was 4096kbps which I guess is the standard starting speed. here are the line stats:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4096 kbps 512 kbps
Line Attenuation 12.0 dB 11.5 dB
Noise Margin 19.1 dB 13.0 dB

So when the line hits its max potential, what should I see?

Should be able to get the full 20MB over the course of the line training period.

Keep your router at your master socket and keep it on at all times.

Yep it's plugged in the master socket. Gonna convert that into a filtered faceplate after the training period. Hopefully I'll get the full speed!

There is no harm is fitting a filtered faceplate now.

If you have any extensions you'll certainly be better off by doing this sooner too.

But please keep the info coming widezu69 - I am going Sky BB on the 8th Aug and am interested too in how things eventually pan out. I am unable to access my line stats right now on my ADSL Max connection for reasons I won't go into, but may I ask how far away you are from your exchange, using the Sam Knows site please?

That was expected as you started on G.DMT and your line has now been switched to ADSL2+.

It should remain constant now.

Noise seems high or am I just imagining this?

Don't worry, occasionally DLM takes a break.

Keep an eye on things though.

Attenuation has gone up again. Noise is a bit better. Any idea why the Att. as gone up?
