I'm amazed myself, never used to get over 5500kbps down, but when i plugged directly in the test socket, and download DMT tool, things changed!, i suggest everyone plugs there router in the test socket, youllsee amazing improvements! I still need a ADSL filtered faceplate yet though!

Re: Insane speed for my line!
If you see big improvements in the test socket it means one of two things :-
(1) The extension wiring is poor, fitting an NTE5 with bell wire filter or a filtered faceplate will cure this.
(2) The NTE5 socket is faulty (front connection can fail). Cure is same as above.run-IT-direct, For all your networking, ADSL & telecom requirements.

Re: Insane speed for my line!
If you have a downstream noise margin of 0.7 db, you have over-tweaked it and it will drop out or have so many errors your connection will become almost unusable. Tweak it back up to about 5-6 db.
If you didn't know that plugging into the Test socket could improve your connection, you have not studied this form very well, that is the single most useful piece of advice given here.
